Homestead Blue Mountain

Thank you 2022!

October 30, 2022

Our growing season has come to a close! Frosty mornings will do that to ya!

What a busy year. In addition to increasing my growing space by 40%, I opened a retail store in Saugerties, New York where going forward Homestead Blue Mountain flowers will be available for sale in addition to servicing our wholesale clients. The shop also features flowers from other local growers, as well as the world's best flowers by special order year round.

Please stop by when you are in Saugerties and say hi:

About Us

Family owned farmland in Saugerties, New York. We raised grass fed black angus cattle here from the late 1960s till the mid 1980s. Since then, our fields have been fallow but well maintained with no use of dangerous chemicals or pesticides ever.

The land was purchased from Italian farmers Sammy and Rosie who lived across the street. I remember hanging out with them in the 1980s while my mom was running errands, eating bugles out of a glass jar and drinking water from a bucket drawn up from their "wishing well". Running along the stone walls, playing store, hunting for artifacts, observing the flora and fauna, and exploring the woods. That's Hudson Valley living.

We are now producing cut flowers, herbs and a small assortment of vegetables for 2020, with plans to expand from there. Our soil and crops are minimally treated, only using OMRI listed interventions when necessary.
